Caitlin & Kyle met about four years ago when they were both going to college, Caitlin in Eau Claire and Kyle at Stout in Menomonie. It was a random Wednesday night that two groups of friends decided to go out to Shenanigans on Water Street and Kyle struck up a conversation with Caitlin and he asked her out to dinner at Manny’s. Here we are four years later for their downtown Eau Claire engagement session! Caitlin mentioned to me that she would love some photos in Eau Claire because it’s where they met!
I think one of the most amazing little notes about this session is that the footbridge in the photos has a bit of special meaning to them, see, Kyle almost told Caitlin “I love you” for the very first time on that footbridge one evening. But, as Caitlin put it, “he chickened out!” and instead told her at their annual 4th of July party while the fireworks went off that night.
Caitlin & Kyle have a New Years Eve wedding planned this year and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the coming of a new year than with these two! PS: Caitlin & Kyle had her ring custom designed at Jared. Although she knew there was a ring coming in the future because they had been ring shopping and had gone through the process of customizing it she didn’t know when the proposal would come. This past December 11 she came home and Kyle had cooked dinner, and they had saved the wishbone from Thanksgiving like they always do. Caitlin had bugged Kyle that they needed to break the wishbone soon, and he put it off until that night when he said “let’s break the wishbone.” So, as they broke it Caitlin got the bigger half and made her wish (that Kyle would propose soon) and there he was on bended knee! I am such a sucker for a cute proposal story! I think the cutest part about this story was that Kyle had it all planned and even rigged the wishbone by cutting a little slice in it so that Caitlin would get her wish!
