When I first met with Becky & Matt they already had their engagement session envisioned which I completely adore! I have said it before and believe me, you will hear it again – I LOVE when couples choose locations for their engagement sessions that mean something to them. Like their first date location: The Firehouse. Or, a place they like to frequent: The State Theater. Or, choosing to start their session at Becky’s amazing old historic apartment for the start of their rugby engagement photos (see… they both love rugby and Matt’s been playing since college and currently still plays for the Eastside Banshees!). Best day ever…. until the wedding rolls around because I know they’re going to have the most amazing day.
Becky and Matt met for their first date at the very crowded Livery in downtown Eau Claire… so they snuck out and headed to the Firehouse and talked for hours on end until they realized they hadn’t even had any dinner. All of a sudden Becky bolted and although Matt thought their date had been going great he suddenly wondered what went wrong until the next day Becky texted him and told him what a great time she had on the date. Well, the rest is history and now these two will be walking down the aisle next July!
When Matt proposed to Becky, he completely surprised her as they hadn’t spoken a word about getting engaged. So he literally swept her off her feet one evening when he had a bottle of Becky’s favorite champagne on the counter at home and dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. Everything about this was a surprise to Becky and I love that the first person they were able to tell about their engagement was Becky’s 5 year old nephew… who of course, would rather talk about trucks than diamond rings! Are you getting married soon?
