walk through a wedding with justin & mary : part i

It’s been a bit quiet on the blog this past month (or so)… but things are soon to be heating up around here.  I’ve been in and out of the office for really exciting things and I’m so happy to share with all of you not only what’s been going on behind the scenes (an office makeover, a big exciting trip to learn more about my profession, and some downtime) as well as some of my fall and winter shoots that I have yet to blog.

Today before I delve into any of my other subjects I’m going to share with you the big exciting trip that I took to learn more about my profession.  If you know me well you know that I always have this desire to learn and grown and if you were to ask me if I could go to college forever the answer you would get would be “yes!”  It’s just one of those things about me – it might be quirky and it might be odd but I love to learn and there is nothing better than learning more about the profession you’re in and that you love.  Last fall I was really in a spot where I felt I needed to grow myself more and I took the leap and signed up for Walk through a Wedding with Justin & Mary for this past week.  It’s been something that has been on my radar for a few years but this fall it became a reality, a push, a leap.

I rarely talk about personal things on the blog because in the back of my mind I find I’m a very private person, I want to keep that personal side of my life hidden but as a goal this year I want to share more with you about what goes on here behind the computer screen and lenses.

In the end the leap that I took leaving my family behind for a week to learn and grow was one of the best things I could have done for my business.  Justin & Mary welcomed thirteen of us into their home with open arms and taught us everything they know.  What excites me is what is to come for 2015 and beyond, I have so much knowledge right now I feel like I could just explode with love and gratitude towards J&M.
