So, if you are either a senior or a parent you are going to need to start thinking about choosing a photographer soon! The question you might be asking yourself is: when to book your senior photos?
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE TO BOOK
Unlike wedding photography, you definitely don’t need to book yourself years in advance – but a good rule of thumb is 2-4 months in advance at the minimum! Yes, really! In the past few years I have found that late summer & early fall sessions are becoming more and more popular. I’m only one person, and I do ALL of the hand-editing, too! Oh, and the emails, phone calls, social media, etc. So – my dates are limited during that time of the year. If you have a specific season in mind, it’s best to book early to ensure you get a date in that time frame.
HOW DO I BOOK MY SENIOR PHOTOS?
The first step you’ll need to take is reach out and contact the photographer who’s work you connect with the most. Look over their website & social media to ensure they have the style you like – because these are the photos you’ll have in the yearbook & hanging on the wall forever! Then, check with them on the investment you’ll be making to see if that fits within your budget. I make sure that information is right on my senior information page so you can see right away whether the investment fits! No surprises here! After that you’ll likely sign a contract & pay your session fee. Then your date is on the books!

When you book your senior photos with me – you’ll get a bunch of fun stuff to look through to help you prepare for your session. Everything from a What to Wear Guide, hiring a makeup artist, selecting your perfect locations & more. Then before you know it, it’s your shoot date!
