This is tough for me. I’m a real person, a real PERSONAL person. I have a hard time letting myself leak out onto the internet, I have a hard time letting my personal life be public. Is that a bad thing? No, but I also think that it’s time that all of you – my wonderful readers, clients, past clients and future clients get to know more about who’s behind the camera, the blog, the website and the person you ‘see’ online. I haven’t made an official resolution, but here is my unofficial resolution – to let you see more of what goes on when I’m not behind a camera. There are things I LOVE that don’t involve the camera (though I wholeheartedly enjoy every single moment I am)… cooking, diy projects like sewing and more, traveling, spending time with my AMAZING family, a good book and a mug of chai tea. I hope you see more of those things over the next year, I’ll even share some of my favorite recipes and personal photographs. Thank you to Jessica Sands for the prodding on this one <3
My posts will be a little backwards – at some point I’ll share newborn photos of our daughter L but right now I’m going to share with you some images from our most recent adventure. It was what you could call a ‘workcation’ as much of my vacations are these days… about oh two years ago now one of my friends from RMSP called me up to let me know she was engaged and asked if our classmate (and my amazing second photographer on MANY occasions) would travel as far west in the US as we could to photograph her amazing beach wedding in Cannon Beach, Oregon. You can about imagine that I jumped through my cell phone to say YES. You can read more about Lindsey + Mark’s wedding day here.
Mandy, my husband Wes, our daughter L and I decided we would take an extra few days to explore some of the beautiful states of Washington and Oregon on our way to the big day. Here are some of my favorites from my personal photograph collection of our ‘workcation.’ XO, C
Daddy and daughter reading maps in our hotel in Washington. We woke up to a sunrise over the ocean, I can’t say that very often and I love to.
Haystack Rock! Pretty neat, and it was in the background of MANY of Lindsey + Mark’s wedding images.
Lily’s first sand experience!
One of my favorite ‘landscape’ images from the entire trip.
Some sea life! One of our top things to see in our downtime was the tide pools.
Quaint cabins that we made home for a night and all of us infront of the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park.
Inside the neat lodge near Sunrise in Mt. Rainier Nat’l Park – we should be able to see the mountain here but alas it was covered in dense fog.
Here we stand infront of Mt. Rainier – we tried to see it 2 days in a row but it was covered in dense fog.
It was L’s first visit to a Nat’l Park and she thoroughly enjoyed exploring all of the dirt and textures on the forest floor.
Mt. Rainier Nat’l Park – some of the LOVELY forest areas near the entrance of the park.
Overlooking Seattle from the Space Needle, so glad we watched sunset from the Needle – it was pretty perfect.
yessssss!!!! love this!!!!
