As I walked in the doors this past Saturday for Chantel & Kurt’s Heyde Center for the Arts wedding in Chippewa Falls, there was such an air of calmness surrounding these two. See, they chose to keep their day simple. No wedding party, just them. Just the two of them getting ready separately in the basement of the Heyde Center, a quiet joy buzzing through the air. Chantel & Kurt also chose to have a first look where they see each other before walking down the aisle. It was utter perfection. Now, I know how fun it can be to also have the whir of excitement from a bridal party but there is something so lovely & quiet about sharing a moment TOGETHER without having the worry if someone will make it for photos. I just adored every single part of their day.
Just a little over three and half years ago Chantel & Kurt met by chance as they were invited a birthday gathering at the shout house in Minneapolis (a dueling piano bar). They met that evening, talked very briefly and eventually hit it off with each other. The rest is history! You can read more about how they met over on their engagement session post from a couple of months ago when we met up and they shared a bit of ice cream, and a little sunset walk through the fields near Chantel’s parents place.
So much joy below, you just have to see it for your own eyes. Oh, and… I think their guests were also utterly thrilled with the hand-scooped variety of flavors from Olson’s Homaid Ice Cream instead of cake. What could be better on a hot August day?! Love and ice cream = a perfect combination!
Congratulations Chantel & Kurt – I hope you two are soaking in Door County this week!
