adorable one year old summer session | junior

The one-year baby session, oh the bittersweet joy of it.  It’s hard to explain really, even more-so now having my own sweet one-year-old.  I’ve photographed this little guy since day one when his Mom & Dad invited me to photograph Junior for an in-hospital newborn session.  I have to say I’m sure it’s a bit bittersweet for his Mama & Daddy, too – you bring home this sweet cuddly baby wrapped in blankets and hold them tight and one year later they’re exploring the world, thankfully they still let us wrap them up and hold them tight (for now… and I cherish those days just like I know Amanda and Ryan do, too.).

Junior loves his big sister, his froggy blanket and his Thomas the Train toy (you’ll see Thomas below)… and recently made his first big family trip to South Dakota – so much fun and so many great memories for all of them!

I chatted with Amanda (Junior’s Mama) earlier this week about the type of session she was looking for for Ryan Jr. and this time of July is just about perfect for what she was thinking – so as you’ll see below the adorable one year old summer session that we had both envisioned for Junior!  Best of all Junior will be celebrating his big day with lots of family and friends while they camp – one of their family’s favorite past-times!  I would say that’s a pretty neat way to celebrate your very first birthday!  Happy Birthday, Ryan Jr.!
