Adventure, travel + photography. They all go hand-in-hand for Katie & Lukas so it was absolutely perfect for their adventurous Brunet Island State Park engagement session!
Four years ago Katie joined a student organization in her freshman year of college – the Residence Hall Association. Little did she know that the man she would marry was on the executive board of the association! While they met via the icebreaker that day, it wasn’t until a few months later that they became official.
This past January, just after they set sail on a Disney Cruise, Katie & Lukas headed to the deck to take some sunset photos before they went to dinner. Lukas’ dad set up the camera, and Lukas started digging in his backpack. In his hand he had a notebook – the same one he used to ask Katie to be his girlfriend 4 years prior. Lukas – a huge fan of Disney since he was little, drew 5 photos of Disney Characters with the words, “Will you be my girlfriend?” But this time, he drew 4 more pictures with the words, “Will you marry me?”
KATIE SAID YES!
While hiking through Yosemite earlier this spring, in the midst of planning their wedding for this coming May they came across a couple getting married in the park and they knew in their hearts that maybe, just maybe it was time to take a leap and get married in the place that set their hearts on fire. Glacier National Park. Shortly after Katie emailed me and said, “Glacier is where our relationship really blossomed so we thought what better way to get married than in the park with just our families.”
So in just a few months, that is what these two are doing! I couldn’t be more happy for them to be getting married in a place that they love and feel connected to!
Something about this one – I just love it!
A little in-camera double exposure!
