I just adored getting to explore for engagement sessions, and it’s always so much more fun in the fall because the leaves are changing and even though I’m at various locations multiple times during the fall season, they’re changing so fast. That was the same for Beth & Matt’s fall Brunet Island State Park engagement photos.
These two met by chance at a college party while both going to school in Winona, MN. While the miss the height of the college days and the carefree spirit that comes along with it, they’re now living and working in Eau Claire! Matt took a job with Menards and Beth will be starting nursing school shortly. And although Beth accidentally thwarted Matt’s proposal by coming home early (story in a sentence or two) – they’re planning their big day for next September at Celebration at the Gables in Turtle Lake, WI.
So, Beth thwarted those original plans… how? Well, Matt sent Beth off to do some shopping all dolled up with the ruse of dinner later that evening and of course while he was in the middle of decorating their apartment with candles and rose petals, Beth came home early! No worries, Matt still got down on one knee and of course Beth said yes!
When these two picked Brunet Island for the spot for their engagement photos I was thrilled. In case you don’t know me well, I love state parks (and I have a few back years of state park stickers to prove it). We actually buy one for each car because we absolutely love to pack up a car and head to a random state park and picnic. Brunet is one of my favorite state parks in our area – and this was the first time Matt & Beth had been there. I hope they’ll return with their own picnic and charcoal to use one of the grills this coming year!
