It was the same aisle that Mack’s grandparents had once walked down, the same aisle where 26 years ago Mack’s parents also walked out as husband and wife. The same aisle where this past Saturday Sarah & Mack also promised each other that they would spend the rest of their lives together. There in the heart of Mack’s families hometown at St. Peter & Paul in Independence, WI these two became one. It was an absolute perfect way to start their chic classic wedding at the Florian Gardens in Eau Claire.
These two high school sweethearts had been dreaming about their wedding day for the past nine years when Sarah asked Mack to the Sweetheart Switch dance (their high schools version of the Sadie Hawkins dance). Oh, as Sarah recalls when she was going to ask him she says… “someone had already asked him, and he turned her down.” She then proceeded to ask that girl if it was alright if she would ask Mack, the girl gave her blessings and look where we are! These two went from #wiggytowoz on an October Saturday.
When I arrived at the Florian Gardens I found Sarah getting ready with all of her girls, Mack with his guys and both so excited for the day to begin. We had a forecast of rain for the afternoon but it just so happened that these two decided to see each other before the ceremony and get a good chunk of their portraits done before the vows. It was such a blessing because as soon as we were done with family portraits it started to pour… and didn’t let up much the remainder of the day. Which, well… sometimes can also be a blessing. But you’ll have to wait to see why at the end of the post.
