Diana & Randy truly kicked off my 2014 season with a bang with their super fun Thorp Quonset wedding! All week the weatherman had rain in the forecast for their day, and while I fretted and worried – Diana & Randy did nothing of the sort. I’m sure my husband would sometimes like to say to me, quit checking the weather! But hey, I like to be prepared!
With no worries in their way Diana & Randy had such a wonderful day that went off with out a hitch! They were married at the St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, WI but not before we had a beautiful first look on Randy’s family farm where he grew up underneath a blossoming apple tree (sigh, how gorgeous that was… you just wait and see). After their ceremony they whisked off to have their reception at the Historic Quonset Hall where they had decorated and draped the ceiling, hung chandeliers and had platters of cheese curds waiting on the table for their guests (in true Wisconsin form!) and also had some fun lawn games for their guests to play before and after dinner! The best part to end their evening – a local band that plays everything from good old rock ‘n roll to polkas, The Home Grown Tomatoes!
I’m so happy that I could capture all of the fun and lovely moments of your day, here’s wishing you two so many beautiful years of happiness!
A special thank you also goes out to my assistant, Sara Nelson – thanks for schlepping the bags and second shooting – I couldn’t do it without you!
One of my favorite shots of all time of a bride getting into her dress with her best girls!
