Let me introduce you today to Juliann, wedding stationer and creator over at
Mint for Hue. Juliann is a Chippewa Valley based graphic designer who specializes in all things wedding stationery related. Her career in designing wedding stationery at Mint for Hue all started making mud pies growing up on a farm. No really, and as she puts it – she graduated from crayons to “beautiful papers, interesting textures, captivating colors, and stylized lettering and calligraphy.” Mint for Hue has recently been featured on
Style Me Pretty & in WI Bride Magazine.

Juliann and I worked together on a stylized shoot earlier this summer. I contacted her to see if she’d be interested in collaborating with me on that project to help bring it to life and she jumped on board and we haven’t looked back since. I trust Juliann 100% – she’s got a keen eye and a fabulous sense of style that she infuses into each client’s wedding stationery suite with personality and care. It was so much fun to watch Juliann bring a vision to life with little bits of inspiration and see the work come full circle in printed form.
I’m turning over the blog today to Juliann to talk about how to choose a wedding stationer to bring your wedding vision to life. See, your wedding stationery sets the tone for your day for your guests from the moment the save the date arrives in the mail all the way through from your invitations, wedding programs, seating chart, menus all wrapping up with your beautifully designed thank you notes. Let a professional graphic designer take the stress out of designing and printing these items for you and let you focus on other pieces of the day – like your gorgeous gown, honeymoon and making a life more beautiful than your wedding day.
How to do I select a wedding stationer?
First and foremost, I believe that your wedding stationer should be someone who is relatable, easy to talk to, and shows enthusiasm to help with your big day. You could potentially spend over a year discussing stationery items with them (from save the dates to thank you cards!) so an easygoing, personable relationship is a must! It’s also important that your designer’s aesthetics mirror your wedding vision, ensuring cohesiveness and uniformity. Lastly, a lot of particulars and formalities go into wedding stationery so it is critical to hire an organized and experienced designer who will take care of all of the cumbersome details that often get overlooked.
What does my stationer need to know about my wedding day?
Everything! Let your stationery designer know about your wedding dress, the bridesmaid dresses, the ceremony site, the reception venue, the color scheme, the centerpiece décor, the bouquets, even your wedding cake! All of these details help your stationer visualize your overall theme and the aesthetics that appeal to you. But it’s not just about your wedding day, it’s about who you two are as a couple and your love story. Your designer should want to know the story of how you and your fiancé met and the dreams you two share. I personally like to work in meaningful phrases or iconic graphics that emerged from your relationship into your stationery collection to truly make it unique
Can I bring or show you examples of invitation suites that I love?
Inspirational pieces are always welcomed, but sometimes too many examples can be restricting. Remember, you are hiring a wedding stationery designer to create a unique collection that represents your relationship. And every relationship is unique and special in it’s own way. Show concepts but trust your stationer & let them be the expert.
