About six years ago I contacted this photographer named Molly Marie for some photographs before my wedding day to surprise my husband with and little would I have known that years down the road I would be photographing her wedding! Last year about this time Molly & Aaron took a little trip west to Idaho where Aaron proposed… shortly there after Miss (ahem.. Mrs) Molly called me up and asked what I would be doing on July 25th. So happy that I was open so I could photograph their absolutely adorable and joyful Door County wedding just outside of Sturgeon Bay, WI.
So, a couple weekends ago my amazing husband and assistant packed up our bags and headed to that tiny little county in the arm of Wisconsin to photograph these two lovebirds. Molly warned me that it would be fun, it would be colorful and the party would last all night. Let’s just say that she didn’t disappoint with any of her predictions. These two know how to put on an epic party! Molly knows a thing or two about weddings as she used to photograph them (and now she photographs gorgeous womens portaits in Eau Claire) so when she and Aaron were planning their day they knew exactly what they wanted and didn’t want.
The afternoon when I arrived to Molly & Aaron’s little cabin on the lake the breeze was blowing in off the water, the coffee was on and it was all smiles & joy. The most amazing day. It was low key, and Molly & Aaron were hanging out together before their first look. Yep, you read that right. Of course the full reveal came after Aaron & Molly got dressed and met separately on the lawn. From there we made a little jaunt to Potawatomi State Park (where Molly worked in her high school days at the camp store) to do a few pictures on a beach that holds some special memories for her family and then to her parents land where they gathered their closest family & friends for the shortest wedding ceremony I’ve yet to see. A 7 minute ceremony. The best day ever.
The day only got better from there.. but I will let you feast your eyes on the photos so you can see just what I mean. Hugs & hearts to Molly & Aaron – so thankful you asked me to document your day!
