Maureen & Jamie’s State Capitol Engagement Session in Madison, WI

In July of 2016, Maureen, her sister and brother-in-law decided to go out for drinks at a bar in a little town called Black Earth, WI after spending the day moving.  That night, Maureen met Jamie – born and raised in that same little town.  He too had just bought a home in Black Earth.  They all became instant friends, and well – as Maureen says “the rest is history.”

But, let me tell you their proposal story because it is just so sweet!  Added bonus?  Jamie proposed to Maureen at the Wisconsin State Capitol, which is where we happened to photograph their early morning engagement photos!  So it just makes their State Capitol engagement session in Madison, WI even more sweet!

So, you ask – how DID he ask?  Last September 2nd, they were attending the Taste of Madison with a bunch of their family and friends.  Their favorite band was on stage and Jamie waited for them to play the bands signature song “Greatest Love Story” (and Jamie always thought of Maureen when it came on).  Then, when the 3rd verse of the song was sung:

So I went to the store, and bought you a ring and got down on one knee…

Jamie dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him!  Their family and friends cheered and documented the moment for them.  Now how is that for romantic?!  Pretty perfect!

In August Maureen & Jamie will be getting married at her family cottage in Northern Wisconsin which happens to be where I first met Maureen a few years ago when I photographed her sisters wedding!  I cannot wait to go back to document Maureen & Jamie’s day!
