Hooray! Charlene and Mike are married, and what a pretty Ironwood, MI wedding they had! For them, it was a semi-destination wedding as their family and guests were traveling from near and far – see Mike grew up in the Ironwood area but both reside in Marinette, MI where they work doing separate jobs at a company that builds Navy ships – Charlene in security for the facility and Mike welds on the ships. How neat is that? Their love story didn’t start there though, it started about 10 years ago when Charlene was going to school in Duluth and met Mike through some friends and the way Mike’s best man put it in his fantastic speech was that – Mike was on fire about Charlene and couldn’t get her off his mind. So it began.
As you might remember from their engagement session post earlier this year, I’ve known Charlene for quite a few years, I’m really unsure of how many to be exact. We met most likely at Girl Scouts when we were Brownies. I remember her Mom taking us on a trip at Irvine Park for Girl Scouts, jumping on Charlene’s bed at their old Miner Ave house, digging gigantic snow forts and the list continues on and on. We were great friends! I am so happy that she found the love of her life in Mike – it is truly an amazing thing to see folks meet their one-and-only and then capture the first day of the rest of their life as one, together.
Mike and Charlene’s day started out at a rural church just north of Ironwood, MI where there wasn’t a whole lot shaking – which was PERFECTION. We walked around the streets of the little town and took full advantage of the park near their church as well as all of the lovely locations around Ironwood that we found. I will let you see for yourself but there are a lot of fun spots incorporated – even a train depot which Mike thought was pretty neat since he loves trains and a fountain that they thought would be fun, too!
Congratulations Charlene & Mike, it was so fun to capture your celebrations – I hope you enjoy your honeymoon in Oahu!
