“Looking out from underneath, fractured moonlight on the sea, reflections still look the same to me.” – Florence + The Machine
Tires humming underneath a little green box + Florence became the soundtrack of a trip full of adventure, laughter, sand, salt + sun. It all started with a call from my amazing friend Mandy with the need for some help photographing a wedding in the mountains of West Virginia (read more about that here…). On top of being able to photograph that amazing wedding, we were able to spend a few short days near the Atlantic Ocean. After a lost drivers license in Minnesota and lost baggage in Virginia, we arrived to the sand, salt + sun.
This is a deeply personal post, and I’m sharing some of my personal work. I just can’t say enough about what being next to the ocean does to me and my soul. Adventurer at heart, I am, it was something I felt I needed to do. To spend some time reflecting on where I am in my life + photographic journey. As a part of this journey I brought along some film + a 35mm camera, and I’m sharing something with you that is new to me. Something gritty, grainy and raw. I thank my bestie, Mandy evermore for allowing me to sit in the passenger seat once again. Here’s to many more…
nothing better than expired film from photography school.
