High school sweethearts, Sara & Ryan’s session was planned from across many, many miles. When Sara first contacted me she mentioned that she was deployed! So, when we Skyped for our initial meeting we were only about 7000+ miles apart. When we talked about their engagement session we planned it for the end of October when she thought she would make it home and hoped for the best for their snowy Wisconsin engagement session!
Sara & Ryan are high school sweethearts, though their story begins a lot earlier than that when Sara rode the same school bus as Ryan’s brother and somehow Ryan’s mom ended up with a photo of Sara & Ryan’s brother from elementary school. When Sara & Ryan started dating, Ryan’s mom said “I think I have a photo of you in our basement,” and that she did! Though Sara & Ryan parted ways after high school for a bit and went their separate ways for college, it was during college when they reconnected through some friends and they’ve been inseparable since.
This past March while on vacation in Mazatlan Ryan proposed on the beach, just weeks before they knew that Sara was about to be deployed. It was then they knew that they would plan a sweet little elopement which they shared back in Eau Claire with 10 people in a warm little greenhouse. Deployed for 6 months, they knew they wanted to share in their celebration with all of their family and friends – they’re now planning a October vow renewal ceremony & reception at Dixon’s Apple Orchard. I cannot wait to see what they have planned!
A little love for their favorite brewery where we took some of their snowy photos.
