I’m so lucky to be photographing a couple of high-school classmates weddings this year. It always makes me so happy when a classmate contacts me because sometimes I haven’t seen them in quite some time (because well, you know everybody picks up and moves somewhere great to start their wonderful life) and it’s just so much fun to catch up. I photographed Charlene & Mike’s spring Chippewa Falls engagement photos a few nights ago and we had so much fun – let me tell you that these two can tickle your funny bone – and each other’s! They kept each other laughing the entire time!
Charlene and I go back waaaaay before high-school even, I can’t say exactly WHEN we met… it’s been THAT long but I do know that we used to do jump and do somersaults off of her bed at their old Miner Avenue house, build snow forts, ride bike and go on Girl Scout trips to places like Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. In fact I remember riding with Charlene and her Mom down to Chippewa to Irvine Park for a Girl Scout event, and I also remember something about Camp Nawakwa now that I think of it. As we reminisced the other evening Charlene even told me that my Mom took her snowmobiling for the first time in our yard – oh the things I forget and how much fun we used to have!
Flash forward to two years ago when I was photographing Mardi Gras in Ladysmith, while I was at the car show I met up with Charlene who I probably hadn’t seen since we graduated and her boyfriend, Mike. We talked and chatted for quite some time catching each other up as to where we were at in life. See, Charlene + Mike met while Charlene was attending school in Superior, WI and met through friends of friends. They love the outdoors, snowmobiling and well – as you’ll be able to see – laughing! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this August. Congrats guys!
A lovely heart shaped engagement ring.
The laughter!
