Since last fall when I first met Alex & Scott I knew that their wedding would be filled to the brim with good stories, laughter and whole of of love for one another. It was and it was so much more for their summer Eau Claire, Wisconsin wedding.
Back in July of 2014 these two met in a truly fateful way. Alex had moved to North Carolina from her hometown in Michigan earlier that year in hopes of adventures and warmer weather. So, when she and her friends decided they needed to meet up they chose Nashville, TN as a meeting spot. It just so happened that Scott who is from Ashland, WI and his friend had driven to Nashville, too to see a friend living there.
It all happened on the dance floor of the Honky Tonk Central, a guy with an American flag button down shirt grabbed her hand. They swung around the dance floor and ended up talking all night long and at the end of the night decided to exchange numbers. What happened as a chance meeting on the dance floor that night turned into them hanging out the entirety of the vacation and texting.
Just a few short weeks later Alex suggested she use her frequent flier miles to visit Scott in Wisconsin and the next thing they knew they were having their first official date at the farmers market at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire. The rest, you could say is history.
So, as it happened this past Saturday we had plans set in stone on where we would be taking all of the pictures after the ceremony and well, Mother Nature had her own ideas because just as we boarded the party bus the rain came crashing down. We needed a new location, and quick! Where did it happen to be? The same place they had their first official date – Phoenix Park.
Congratulations Alex & Scott, it has been such a pleasure to get to know you both and to tell your story!

Scott reading the letter that Alex had written for him the morning of the wedding.
So, in my ten years of photographing weddings this was a first. I caught Scott’s parents dancing just outside the church and it was THE BEST thing ever.
A little rain didn’t dampen these spirits!
See those drops of rain?
