I have so much exploring outside of the Chippewa Valley with my couples. Casey & Taylor wanted to something in their “new” backyard for a summer Wausau engagement session, and by new I mean that they both recently moved to Wausau. A few years ago some mutual friends invited Casey to a flag football game where Taylor would be and all it took was Taylor buying Casey a hot chocolate at the stand and now they’re planning on getting married next September at the Rib Mountain Amphitheater.
We explored the Eau Claire River Trail for the first portion of their engagement session, an adventurous one at that. We walked our way through the winding path and came upon this perfect little break in the trees near the creek and spent a bit of time there. These two, I tell you I love that they were up for anything… from rolling up their pants, to crossing a creek, to sitting on a tree infested with spiders, to dodging crayfish to sit on a FLOATING log in the middle of said creek, to the piggy back ride out of the crayfish infested waters! I just adore these two… oh and Casey requested that they bring Taylor’s Dodge Challenger for some pictures and if you know me at all you know that it’s just right up my alley to include a fun car in photos!
But, Casey & Taylor’s session goes beyond that – I think the way they got engaged has a little something to speak for how amazing these two are and the love they have for each other. Taylor knew how very much Casey’s late Grandfather meant to her and while they were visiting with him one afternoon Taylor proceeded to ask Casey’s Grandfather for his permission to marry Casey (yes, right infront of Casey) and Casey’s Grandfather approved. Once he approved Taylor pulled out a ring and then asked him what he thought Casey would think of the ring and then proceeded to get down on one knee and ask Casey to spend the rest of her life with him (and of course, she happily accepted).
Ahhhh… and here I am teary eyed in the office writing all of this. So without further ado… meet Casey & Taylor!
