Dark clouds hung in the sky most of the afternoon, but really the weather was quite perfect for Sloane & Josh’s engagement session until we had to book it for our cars 15 minutes after we started the session because it started heavily drizzling! Not to worry, these two decided why not keep going so as soon as the drizzle stopped we were back out in a gorgeous little field with a row of birch trees. Sloane & Josh love the idea of little dirt roads and wanted to be in the country for their engagement photos so we took off for another quiet little spot at the edge of a lake where the sun peeked out at us for a few small minutes before it started drizzling again! What a story to tell!
Sloane & Josh met in the 3rd grade but it wasn’t until their sophomore year of high school that they began to date and, Josh says of Sloane, “I love that she can always brighten my day just by walking into the room.” When Josh proposed this last winter, he did it in style. He took Sloane out to a restaurant where one of their friends is a chef and had him prepare a special meal. As he brought dessert out, the ring box sat on the cutting board and written in chocolate was: “I love you Sloane.” The next thing she knew he was down on his knee and she was saying yes – not only that but Josh had invited their parents to celebrate! Sloane says of Josh, “I always feel most comfortable when I am with him, he can always make me smile, and he is always willing to help me with anything.”
Fields of gold are my favorite in the fall.
I ADORE this one. LOVE, love, LOVE!
